How To Get Emergency Service |
|
Like most fire departments, we are best known for our emergency response. To reach us in an emergency: Dial 9-1-1These lines are answered by an Ontario Provincial Police Communications Centre. The 9-1-1 operator then relays the call to a Orillia Fire Department dispatcher, who will take the call information, tone out the appropriate station and firefighters using the paging system. The dispatcher will then handle all radio transmissions until the incident has been resolved. Dialing 9-1-1 provides the dispatcher with information on their display screen about the phone's location and caller.
705-687-2121This line is answered by the same dispatcher at the Orillia Fire Department who will handle the call just like above, but without the special information the 9-1-1 system provides. The preferred method is by dialing 9-1-1 and asking for the emergency service you require most. But remember, only use 9-1-1 to Save a Life, Report a Fire and Report a Crime.
