The date is August 5, 1920 and the Ronald Steamer leads the
Firemen's Parade down Muskoka Road. Behind the steamer is the department's
hose wagon and behind that are the members of the department in their
snazzy uniforms. |

November 30, 1920 and fire claims the original infirmary and
most of the central administration building at the Muskoka Free Hospital
for Consumptives. The "Free" was one of several sanatoria for

Originally built in 1902, the "Free" was struck by
fire in 1920. The patient's rec center, Massey Hall, was used as the
infirmary until the building was rebuilt. Today, Massey Hall still stands,
but is now known as Scott Hall, and is a landmark on the Ontario Fire
